Udaipur: Dr. Atul Luhadia, Dr. Ronak Kankrecha, Dr. Hiren Hadiya, and Technician Lokendra of the Department of Respiratory Diseases removed the piece of betel nut stuck in the windpipe without operation binoculars in Geetanjali Medical College and Hospital, Udaipur. He provided a healthy life by doing a bronchoscopy. The patient suddenly developed a cough, shortness of breath, and chest pain in the last few days. In such a situation, the patient's relativesmetDr.SKLuhadiaandDr.AtulLuhadia in the Department of Respiratory Diseases of Geetanjali Hospital. It was found in the X-ray that the patient's left lung had collapsed completely.Thepatient'soxygenlevelwasdecreasing, so the patient was admitted to the ICU and given oxygen. A video bronchoscopy of the patient was done, and it was found that there was a lumplike foreign body in the windpipe leading to the left lung, due to which the left lung was utterly deflated. Dr.Atul and his team pulled out the foreign bodywithbinocularsbyholdingthethree-prong biopsy forcepswiththehelpoflocalanesthesia without making the patient unconscious. On coming out, it was found that the foreign body was a piece of betel nut (3 x 1 cm) stuck in the left side of the windpipe while the patientwas sleepingwhileeatingthebetelnut. As soon as the betel nut was taken out, the patient started feeling better, and his throwing was also back to normal. Usually, foreign body rigid bronchoscopy is performed by sedating the patient, there are more complications. Dr. Atul and his team removed the piece of betel nut under local anesthesia by video bronchoscopy. This complex examination and treatment of the patient were done free of cost under Chief Minister Chiranjeevi Yojana in Geetanjali Hospital. The patient is now completely healthy and has been discharged from the hospital.
