Rare heart surgery in PIMS

Udaipur. Physicians at the Pacific Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) Hospital Umrada have given life to the patient through the rarest of heart surgeries. This is the first rare surgery of the Udaipur division.

PIMS Chairman Asheesh Agarwal said that the 60-year-old patient of Bhilwara had a heart attack four months ago. He was unable to do his daily work due to chest pain, nervousness, and breathlessness. Meanwhile, the patient got her treatment done in many hospitals, but there was no improvement in her condition. Recently, the patient was brought to PIMS Hospital. The investigation here revealed that the patient had blockages in both arteries. A large hole was also formed due to the cutting of the middle wall of the heart. Heart pumping also worsened due to a heart attack, and there was Sevier leakage in both valves. Despite having so many heart complications, PIMS underwent a complete surgery in one go. This included repairing both valves, bypassing and completely repairing the heart hole without opening the large heart chamber. The surgery was performed by Dr. Sudeep Chaudhary, Head of the Department of Cardiac and Vascular Surgery. Dr. Vipin Sisodia and the team were supported in the surgery. According to Dr. Chaudhary, it was the rarest operation that was successfully completed. The patient is completely healthy and has been discharged from the hospital.
