New Delhi: Ministry of Culture, Government of India successfully organised the second edition of the'Rashtriya Sankriti Mahotsav'. The celebrated carnival that initially began on 15th October, 2016 today, wellstepped into its eighth day, powerfully connecting the audience to the rich and diverse heritage of India. The festival is an amalgamation of art & culture, epicurean fest, magnificent performances &shopping delights and is aimed to bring continuous joy and excitement for the guests till 24th October, 2016 at the Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts (IGNCA).
It’s remarkable acts from talented artists of the West Zone Cultural Centre (Udaipur) impressively brightened the stage, accentuating it as a prosperous day. Few prominent highlights of the day are as follows:
"A fusion of different folk dances including 'Kathak with Lavni' and more
"Mesmerizing folk dances and martial artsincluding Rathwa, SiddiDhamal, Lavni, Dekhni, TalwarRaas, Bhapang, AangiGair and Mandovfrom different states of the country such as Gujarat, Rajasthan, Goa and more presented a gala show
"Alongside, an alluring presentation by Shri Nishit Mehta, a folk fusion group from Gujarat set the stage with infinite charisma”
"We are glad on receiving continuous appreciation for organising the 'Rashtriya Sanskriti Mahotsav 2016'.
The festival is a pure blend of dance, food, music, culture, drama and entertainment that efficiently delivers a glimpse of the entire country and its heritage at the IGNCA lawns" said Shri N K Sinha, Secretary Culture, Government of India. "The festival has played a major role to diligently introduce and connect country's youth to the undiscovered culture of our country and will continue with the same practice in the coming days". He further added "Today, artists from the West Zone Culture Centre (Udaipur) brought grace and charm to the stage through their profound performances, we thank them for their contribution in making this day a great success".
Rashtriya Sanskriti Mahotsav 2016, while the festival is continuously promoting the culture and heritage of India, it is also promoting various government's initiatives such as 'Beti Bachao Beti Padhao Andolan', 'Digital India' and 'Swach Bharat Abhiyan'. Various banners that are erected across the IGNCA campus accompanied by energetic volunteers, are effectively spreading the word to promote these profound initiatives.
