Udaipur Donor Dash 2019

 



Udaipur is ready to host the third Organ Donor Dash on Sunday, 30 June at Fatehsagar.



Under the auspices of Mohan Foundation Jaipur and Bohra Youth Medical Relief Forum, Udaipur the Udaipur Donor Dash 2019, in sync with its objectives each year, aims to educate public on the concept of Organ Donation. Main sponsor of the event is The Udaipur Urban Cooperative Bank Ltd, Udaipur.



Season 1 in 2017 was a reality check on the awareness status of the city towards the concept of Organ Donation and transplant. Many myths have existed since time towards the concept, some related to health, others to societal attributions, while some to religion. The aim of this dash is to raise the awareness among the people about Organ donation.



Main sponsor of the event is The Udaipur Urban Cooperative Bank Ltd, Udaipur. Geetanjali Medical College and Hospital, Udaipur is the healthcare partner with Parmarth Memorial Trust being the concept partner. Udaipur Times along with Udaipurwale FB group are supporting the cause as online media partner.





 



Dr. Lakhan Poswal, Superintendent, Maharana Bhupal Government Hospital will also be present to grace the event and share his opinion on Organ Donation. This association will ensure that the walk is well attended resulting in further augmentation of awareness towards the cause. More than 250 people are expected to walk from Aravali Vatika till Fateh Sagar paal area to spread awareness about organ donation.



The walk is open to public and registration to the event will be done on the spot.



Participants are requested to assemble outside Aravali Vatika on the Swaroop Sagar – Fatehsagar road (300 m from Hindustan Zinc Head Office) between 6am till 6:15am. The walk will begin at 6:30am and will pass through Moti Magri, Vivekanand Garden, Bambaiya Bazar and Fatehsagar Paal to eventually conclude at the Over flow gate at Fatehsagar Paal.



During the walk, participants are requested to invite onlookers and walkers to join the cause by distributing pamphlets and spreading awareness. The pamphlets will contain information on Organ donation and answer queries on myths surrounding the concept.



The previous year’s walk saw participation by over 200 people. This year more than 250 participants are expected to join, to make the event a success.
