The government is committed to ensure smooth road for the prosperous future of our youth: CM Ashok Gehlot

Jaipur: In a unique initiative an online interaction was organised by Dhiraj Srivastava, Commissioner, Rajasthan Foundation with the beneficiaries of the Rajiv Gandhi Scholarship For Academic Excellence. The interaction was attended by Rajasthan Chief Secretary Smt Usha Sharma, Rajasthan Foundation, Sh. Bhawani Singh Detha, Principal Secretary, Higher Education, students along with their parents, NRR Mitras and government officials. The online interaction was primarily to connect the beneficiary students of RGS scheme who have gone abroad to pursue their dreams with their counterpart Pravasi families present in those countries already.
It may be recalled that the Government of Rajasthan had launched the Rajiv Gandhi Scholarship for Academic Excellence Yojana. Under this scheme, all those students of the state who desire to pursue their higher education at a foreign university will get monetary help. Deserving students have also be given amount of more than 50 lacs in few cases. All the students who are going to pursue undergraduate level, Master’s level, and Ph.D. and Post- Doctoral research programs from a university established abroad can grab the benefits of this scheme.
With the initiative of Rajasthan Foundation, a constructive dialogue was held between officials and the students who had joined from numerous countries including USA, UK, Canada, Germany, Australia, Netherlands, Singapore, Hong Kong etc.
During the interaction, the CS congratulated the scholars of RGS and emphasized on the importance of education for a better future. She opined that the scholarship is not only a financial assistance but also a recognition of the students’ hard work, dedication, and commitment to excellence.
The Chief Secretary also appreciated the NRR Mitras complimenting that the idea generated and implemented by Rajasthan Foundation of NRR Mitras in various countries is remarkable. She spoke to the students regarding the possible ways that NRR Mitras can help them which included valuable strategic mentoring and guidance to people who are planning to move abroad along with information of local customs, transportation, accommodation as well as emotional support.
The CRF expressed his happiness at the fact that 245 students have benefited from this scheme and youngsters from districts like Banswara, Sirohi, Karauli, Jalore and others have also got selected to avail the scholarship for meeting their goals. He informed that under the vision of CM Shri Ashok Gehlot, this scholarship is being extended from 200 students to 500 students annually.Shri Dhiraj Srivastav assured the students that while they may be studying in foreign countries, they should not feel alone as RF has a remarkable network of NRR Mitras who are always willing to help and support the Rajasthanis moving abroad, an instance of which was evident during the evacuation of students from Ukraine where the NRR Mitras played a crucial role in getting our Pravasi safely back to India.
Shri Dhiraj Srivastava express his happiness that his own goal for developing a “Bada Parivaar” of all the Rajasthani’s whether in country or in any part of the world, counties is been realised gradually. Pravasi NRRs have always risen to the occasion of extending helping hand, wherever and whenever required.Conveying the note of thanks Sh. Bhawani Singh Detha, Principal Secretary, Higher Education welcome the initiative of Rajasthan Foundation and thank the NRRs for taking their time out of the busy schedules despite of different time zones.
The concept of NRR Mitras by the Rajasthan Foundation can be a significant step in supporting the dreams and aspirations of young people who are looking to migrate abroad. With their guidance and support, people can make a successful transition to a new country and build a new future abroad.
