Divisional Level Workshop on Child Protection

Udaipur: State Women and Child Development Minister MamtaBhupesh said thataspertheintentionofChief Minister Ashok Gehlot, making Rajasthan free from child labor and marriage is the priority. For this, along with the districtadministration,thereis a need to make efforts together with the concerned departments, local public representatives,variousvoluntaryorganizations, and organizations working in child protection. Bhupesh, during her visit to Udaipur on Monday, at Ha ri s h c h a n d r a M a th u r Rajasthan RajPublicTraining Instituteexpressedasthechief guest at the Divisional Level WorkshoponChildProtection organized by the Department of Child Empowerment. Discussions took place on several topics: MinisterSmt.Bhupeshdiscussedtheworkingofjuvenile homes, communication homes, and girl homes in this divisional level workshop and problems related to child trafficking, child labor, child marriage, child crime, child violence, migration of women in tribal areas, and child homes. During the workshop, Dr. Shailendra Pandya, a member of the Rajasthan State Commission for Protection of Child Rights, gave detailed information about the various works being done in the field of child protection as per the instructionsofthegovernment and various schemes related to child welfare of the governmenttoprovideasafeenvironment to the children is needed to be taken down to the ground level. He emphasized making effective efforts in the field of child protection inthetribalareasoftheUdaipur division. DistrictCollectorTarachand Meena, while welcoming the Minister Mrs. Bhupesh, apprised about the progress of public welfare programs and work being done related to the Department of Women and Child Development in the Udaipur district. He told about the efforts being made at the district level for effective prevention of child marriage as well as other efforts being made for child protection. He saidthatunderMissionKotara, there is a need to work on the ground towards solving the problemsofchildlaborandtribal areas and said that efforts are being made to remove the evils like child labor, and more than10thousandpeopleinthe district. There is a possibility ofaddingguardians.Inthefirst phase, one thousand eligible candidates have been connected with the Palanhar scheme in Kotara. Earlier, the Commissioner o f Wo m e n a n d Ch i l d Development,Smt.Anuprana Singh Kuntal informed about the departmental activities, departmentalpersonneltostop childlabor,theresponsibilities of the concerned institutions, and the government's expectations. Reena Sharma, Additional Director Child Empowerment Department, highlighted the workshop's objectives. During the workshop, the guests also released the table standeebasedonphonenumbers and information on women's safety prepared by the Child Empowerment Department. Officers working inchildprotectionfromthedivisional level and representatives of related organizations werepresentinthisworkshop
