Great opportunities for investment in the field of Renewable Energy in the State- Dr. B. D. Kalla
Energy Minister invites the investors from National and International and Country to invest in the field of renewable Energy in the State, where great opportunities of Renewable Energy are available.
Rajasthan is a land of blistering Sun, blowing air and vast tracts of barren land. The availability of both solar and wind resources have been created the scope of harnessing solar and wind energy individually as well in hybrid form. The natural advantages of renewable energy sources make Rajasthan as a most preferable destination for investors and developers. Solar generation potential of 142 GW and wind generation potential of 127 GW has been assessed in Rajasthan.
Dr. Kalla revealed that more than 10000 MW renewable capacity has been commissioned in the State which includes 5552 MW Solar, 4338 MW wind and 120 MW biomass power projects. Renewable energy is contributing around 35% of total installed capacity of power projects in Rajasthan.
Dr. Kalla revealed further, Rajasthan has set up a solar park at Bhadla in Jodhpur District with 2245 MW capacity, which is the largest solar park in the world now. Solar power projects of 13641 MW and Hybrid power projects of 1878 MW are under pipeline in the State.
As a result of investment friendly Policies and advantage of Rajasthan for renewable power in the State, the ever lowest tariff for solar energy has been discovered @ Rs. 2.00 per unit in the recent bid conducted by SECI for 1070 MW solar power projects for Rajasthan Discoms.
Dr. Kalla invites developers in Rajasthan to make investment in State for taking benefits of new investment friendly policies and giving contribution in harnessing of renewable energy for energy security, sustainable development, carbon mitigation, employment generation and economic growth of the country.
In this virtual Expo, Dr. Subodh Agarwal, CMD, RREC highlighted that Govt of Rajasthan has launched Rajasthan Solar Energy Policy, 2019, Rajasthan Wind & Hybrid Energy Policy 2019 in December-2019 under the leadership of Hon’ble Chief Minister and and guidance of Hon’ble Energy Minister. In the State Policies various Exemptions and relaxations have been granted to investors for investment in the field of Renewable Energy Projects in the State such as 100% exemption in transmission and wheeling charges for RE based EV charging stations for 10 years, 75% exemption in transmission and wheeling charges for RE projects with Storage System for 7 years, annual banking facility for captive users.
Dr. Agarwal further highlighted that for installation of solar and wind equipments manufacturing units in the State, 100% Exemption in Stamp Duty, 90% Investment Subsidy on SGST for 7 Years, 90% Employment Subsidy for 7 Years, All benefits of MSME, Interest Subsidy and Customized Package as per RIPS-2019, Land Allotment at 50% Interest Rate, 100% Exemption of Electricity Duty for 10 Years provided in the Policies.
