Organized a webinar on "Contemporary issues related to Accounting, Taxation, Audit."

A webinar on "Contemporary Issues relating to Accounting, Taxation, Auditing" was organized on 2 July 2021 under the aegis of the Department of Accounting and Occupational Statistics, Mohanlal Sukhadia University, which was presided over by Professor PK Singh, Dean of the College of Commerce. And the chief guest was the President and Director of JK Paper Limited, CA A.S. Mehta.

Webinar Director and Head of the Department Prof. Shoorveer Singh Bhanawat gave the welcome address. Prof. Bhanawat said that during covid, companies made good profits but used the profits to buy back of shares and distribute dividends. Still, investment in companies is not increasing, which is a matter of deep concern.

The chief guest of the inaugural session was JK Paper President CA A.S. Mehta suggested a solid draft to be free from accounting embezzlement and bankruptcy should put forward.

.On this occasion, the keynote speaker of the inaugural session from Xavier Institute of Management Studies, Bhubaneswar, Prof. D.V. Ramana, told about the new IND AS-114, Regulatory Assets, that these assets should also be treated at market value in the accounting books. Prof. Ramana said that the corporate sector should prepare two books of accounts, one at market value and the other at book value. Dr. Shilpa Lodha conducted the function, and Dr. Shilpa Vardia proposed the vote of thanks.

 

Two sessions were organized after the inaugural session. A total of 20 research papers were read in the first technical session.

The keynote speaker of the first technical session, Prof. Paritosh Chandra Basu, Senior Professor, Narsee Monjee Institute of Management, Bombay, explained the various dimensions of BlockChain Accounting; he said that by adopting this accounting method, the credibility and relevance of financial reports could be increased..

Prof. G Soral chaired the first technical session. he expressed his views about the changing role of auditors.

A total of 21 research papers were read in the second technical session. The speaker in the second technical session was Prof. . G Simon Thettil of Kerala University said that accounting is an area to consider qualitative aspects far beyond calculations, and the technical session was presided over by Prof. Jinendra Kumar Jain of Dr. Harisingh Gour University. Prof. Jain threw light on various areas of research.

In the concluding session of the program, as the keynote speaker, Rajasthan State Higher Education Council Vice-Chairman Prof. D.S. Chundawat delivered the speech. Professor Chundawat said that this type of webinar brings new knowledge to the students and proves to be effective in increasing the role of research scholars in the research field.

The concluding statement was made by Prof. Uday Paliwal, Dean, Nirma Institute of Commerce. He shared information about the new dimensions of accounting research. Dean of the College of Commerce Prof. PK Singh gave the presidential address. Shri Pushpraj Meena read the webinar report.

On this occasion, the Head of the Department of Banking, Prof. Mukesh Mathur, Prof. Manju Baghmar, Prof. Rajeshwari Narendran, Prof. BL Verma, and other faculty members were present.
