Gang Canal's flow meter will be installed on the Khaka head

Shri Ganga Nagar: Sriganganagar Lok Sabha MP Shri Nihalchand met Union Water Minister Shri Gajendra Singh Shekhawat and met with the officials concerned for their permanent solution on various problems like Ganga Canal, Rajasthan Canal, and Bhakra Canal getting total water and farmers getting full water.
. In the meeting, Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, MP Mr. Nihal Chand, B.B.M.B. Chairman Mr. Sanjay Srivastava, Commissioner of Central Water Commission and Chief Engineer, State Project Representative, and other officials of the department were also present.
In the meeting, the issue of receiving all the water from Rajasthan was raised mainly, for which the flow meter R.D. on Gang Canal. In place of 45, Khakha will be on the head, and Rajasthan shares will also be counted from this place. Due to the flowing meter on the Khakha head, Rajasthan Pradesh will now get total water from its claim, and the water theft from behind will also be controlled. There was also a discussion on starting the Rs 1153 crore project for modern automatic head works work on Gang Canal as soon as possible.
Additionally, MP Shri Nihalchand requested to supply about 1200 cusecs of drinking water in Bhakra Canal around 25 April. The Minister of Water Power agreed and directed the officials to further action. Similarly, during the canal closure, there was a discussion about completing the raw reeling of the Rajasthan canal on time, which the minister ordered to achieve the said work on time. There was also a discussion about the cleanliness of the Harike barrage. The minister also directed the department to clean the Harike barrage on time during the canal closure with immediate effect.
  In Rajasthan, 64 crore rupees were issued by the previous government to the Punjab government for the cleanliness of Harike Barrage, which the Punjab government did not use. In this regard, the Punjab government has completed a report on the work and details of spending in Rajasthan. The government is not handed over. The Central Government has received S.T.P. from the Punjab government. A total of Rs 774 crore was released occasionally to establish, but these S.T.P.s by the Punjab government. Has not been verified. The Minister of Water Power has also sought an answer from the Punjab government on both these issues.
  Apart from this, issues related to the Navnirman of Ferozepur feeder, the cleanliness of the Bikaner Canal, the permanent prevention of contaminated water in the Sutlej River, and illegal occupations on land with the canal were also discussed in the meeting.
 The Minister of Jal Shakti took prompt action on these issues and directed the officials to present the report related to these works as soon as possible. To review these works, in the first week of May, a delegation of water and water power of the Lok Sabha will also visit these places.
