Acknowledgingthechallenges facedbymany inmeetingtheir daily needs, he emphasized the urgent necessity for concrete measures to support those affected. Purohit urged the government to provide financial assistance to journalists,photographers,media personnel, and publication staffwholosttheirlivesorjobs due to the pandemic. Applauding the government's initiative to reform the outdated British-era law governingthepublishingindustry, Purohit's memorandum suggestedseveralmeasuresinthe broader interest of print, electronic, and digital media. Key points in the memorandumincludedtheonlineinitiation of Broadcasting Registration Number (BRN) and the mandatory inclusion of circulationfigures fromGST e-way bills for newspapers and printers.Purohit also proposedthattheCentralBureau of Communications (CBC) overseealladvertisements for print, electronic, and digital media, ensuring transparency and accountability in their circulation.
