Rajasthan becoming a Model State in MSME due to policy changes

Jaipur/Rajasthan is emerging as a Model State in the field of MSME (Micro, Small, Medium & Enterprises) with the efforts of Chief Minister Shri Ashok Gehlot to make the state as the best destination for investment and setting up industries. The state has gained pace in the MSME sector due to the policy decisions taken by the state government in the last few years. The state's first MSME and Handicraft Policy will be released on Saturday, which will further give pace to the MSME sector.
The State Government is bringing the MSME Policy – 2022 to increase the contribution to the state's GDP (Gross Domestic Product) along with exports. A favourable regulatory environment will be prepared for the MSME units along with will be provided more financial and technical support through this policy.
Industry department Additional Chief Secretary Smt Veenu Gupta said that better provisions have been ensured in this policy that is being brought to promote the MSME sector. In this policy, it is aimed to set up 20,000 new MSME units along with a cumulative investment of Rs 10,000 crore and create employment of 1 lakh people. It is proposed in this policy to provide facilities to 9000 MSMEs to get Zero Defect, Zero Effect (ZED) certification.
MSME infrastructure will be developed with this new policy
She said that Rajasthan Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises Policy-2022 will promote speedy industrial development along with new industrial investment. This policy will also increase employment opportunities along with help in industrialisation in the rural and backward areas. Many important provisions have been included in this policy for the industries such as land and development of infrastructure, development of the smart industrial area, development of MSME clusters, quality improvement, assistance in marketing and business development, assistance in promoting exports, promoting business and services, empowerment of women entrepreneurs and special provisions for scheduled caste, scheduled tribe and disabled categories, assistance in environment protection, promoting best performing entrepreneurs and giving away awards.
Period of exemption for inspection increased to 5 years from 3 years
Industry commissioner Shri Mahendra Parakh said that on the initiative of Chief Minister Shri Gehlot, the state government had enacted the Rajasthan Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises-2019 Act and had provided 3 years of exemption from approvals and inspections on setting up and enforcement of MSME units. Now the state government in MSME Act-2022 is increasing the period to 5 years from 3 years.
