"Pink October" organized at GMCH

Udaipur: "GMCH Cancer Center at Late Smt organized Pink October" Breast Cancer Survivor Meet and Awareness Program. Narmada Devi Agarwal Auditorium.
 The event is dedicated to the patients who fought and won breast cancer and created public awareness about breast cancer. The Chief Guest of the program was Dean Dr. DC Kumawat and CEO Pratim Tamboli. Medical oncologists Dr. Ankit Agarwal and Dr. Renu Mishra, surgical oncologists Ashish Jakhetia and Dr. Ajay Yadav, radiation oncologists A.R. Gupta (HOD), Dr. Ramesh Purohit, Dr. Kiran Chigurupalli, doctors of other departments, HOD and students of Geetanjali Institute of Pharmacy, Geetanjali Dental Research Institute, Geetanjali Nursing College were also present.
The WHO "Close the Care Gap" theme was apprised to the audience present by the CEO, Mr. Prateem Tamboli. He also explained the importance of prevention from breast cancer.
Dr. Ashish Jakhetia presented the lecture on "Self Breast Awareness and Breast Cancer Detection." He  Emphasis on self-breast examination by women and called awareness the first step in the right direction.
The presentation by Dr. Ramesh Purohit on "Role of Screening Mammography in the Modern Age" was appreciated by the audience. He made me aware of the mammogram machine and also explained how this machine is used in breast cancer screening.
50-year-old Bhilwara resident Sarita (changed name) is a breast cancer survivor and a teacher working in a government school.55-year-old Lata (name changed) from Udaipur won over breast cancer, thanking all the experts and telling the attendees that all the doctors of Geetanjali were very supportive of her. Be it day or night, the doctors always listened to her problems and gave an excellent diagnosis.
Mrs. Durga (name changed), 60 years old, sharing her breast cancer battle, said that doctors gave her confidence that even in such a severe illness, she was not in a state of despair, and today she is excellent and Carrying out her daily routine activities.All the cancer survivors who came under the program were felicitated.Dr. Renu Mishra gave a vote of thanks. Mamta Purohit anchored the program.
