Modi Interacts with National Teachers’ Award 2023 Winners Ahead of Teachers’ Day

New Delhi,  In a special interaction held on the eve of Teachers’ Day, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi engaged with the recipients of the National Teachers’ Award 2023 at 7, Lok Kalyan Marg. The event saw the participation of 75 award-winning educators.
Prime Minister Modi commended the pivotal role played by teachers in nurturing the intellectual growth of young minds in the nation. He underscored the significance of exceptional educators and their potential to shape the destiny of the country. PM Modi stressed the importance of inspiring children by acquainting them with the stories of grassroots achievers who have succeeded against all odds.
The Prime Minister urged educators to instill a sense of pride in local heritage and history. He encouraged teachers to motivate students to explore the rich history and diverse cultures of their respective regions. Emphasizing the strength of India's diversity, PM Modi called upon teachers to celebrate and showcase the unique cultures from various parts of the country within their school environments.
In discussing Chandrayaan-3's recent success, Prime Minister Modi highlighted the need to nurture curiosity among students regarding science and technology, considering the 21st century's technology-driven landscape. He also stressed the importance of equipping the youth with the necessary skills to prepare them for the future.
Addressing the Mission LiFE (Lessons for Future Earth) initiative, Prime Minister Modi emphasized the importance of recycling over the disposable culture. Several teachers shared insights about the cleanliness and sanitation programs conducted in their schools. PM Modi advised educators to continuously enhance their skills and engage in lifelong learning throughout their careers.
The National Teachers’ Award is designed to recognize the exceptional contributions of outstanding teachers in India. It honors educators who have not only improved the quality of education but also enriched the lives of their students. This year, the award's scope has been broadened to include teachers selected by the Department of Higher Education and the Ministry of Skill Development, in addition to those selected by the Department of School Education & Literacy.
