Initiative to get Udaipur city recognized as UNESCO World Heritage

Udaipur | In the meeting of the Annual General Meeting held, discussions were held to start efforts to get the tourism city Udaipur declared as World Heritage by UNESCO. Along with many places reminding of the past, the intangible heritage is also unique - that is why millions of domestic and foreign tourists come here. These need to be presented effectively by threading them as a garland. The chapter should help do the project by attracting the attention of Municipal Corporation, UT, District Collector, Maharana MewadrFoundation, etc.

In the meeting, the report of the chapter's activities done throughout the year and audited accounts were also approved. The role of heritage clubs established in various schools was also commendable, and many programs were organized online during the Corona period. Keeping in mind the best educational activities, the Delhi Headquarters honored the chapter with the 'Best Chapter Award' and a prize of five thousand rupees for 2020-21. Dr. B.P. Appreciating Bhatnagar's efforts and congratulated him.

On completion of the term of the present convener, Dr. Bhatnagar hoped that newly appointed convener Prof. Lalit Pandey (historian and archaeologist) and expressed he will take the chapter to new heights with his experience. The members assured them of full cooperation and urged Dr. Bhatnagar to continue providing guidance. While thanking each member for the cooperation provided by them, stressed on making the chapter more effective.

The chapter was also praised for preparing for the early publication of three books related to heritage this year and reaching the final stage:-(1) Mewadi Folk Songs, (2) Forts of Rajasthan, (3) Divine Heritage of Mewar. The meeting ended with a vote of thanks by co-convener Shri Gaurav Singhvi.
