Education is not a business but a social concern

Udaipur, Continuity will be seen in the education policies of the country made from time to time. The language has changed, but the goal is the same. The teacher should be full of human attitude. The student shapes himself by following his teacher, so the role of the teacher is significant in personality building.
Renowned educationist Prof. JS Rajput expressed this idea in the inaugural session of the three-day national seminar on "Current Teacher Education: Goals, Challenges and Possibilities," which started on Monday at Vidya Bhavan Govindram Seksaria Teachers College, Udaipur.
The seminar is being organized under the joint auspices of Vidya Bhavan and Azim Premji University, Bangalore.
Chief speaker Prof. Rajput, referring to Mahatma Gandhi, said that if every person performs his duties, various problems can be ended.
It was presided over by Ajay Mehta, President of Vidya Bhavan Society. Mehta said that education is an essential medium for the progress of the society. It should be seen as a social concern rather than a business.
Pro. Hridyakant Dewan presented the objectives of the seminar. Welcome Coordinator and Principal Dr. Farzana Irfan. Dr. Santosh Upadhyay and Savitri Rao did the operation. Thanks, co-coordinator Dr. Naina Trivedi gave.
In the first day's sessions, educationist Nidhi Gulati spoke on the relation between theory and practice in teacher education and Smriti Sharma on pre-service teacher education and academic possibilities. Prof. Sadhna Saxena chaired the session.
In the second session, Nisha Butolia of Azim Premji University discussed the implications of state-level English language training programs and the professional development of teachers. Vidya Bhavan School Principal Pushparaj Singh Ranawat expressed views on the changing nature and challenges of the in-service teacher training program—session chaired by Prof. MP Sharma.
In the third session, Radhika Menon of Delhi University and education consultant of Vidya Bhavan Society, Prasoon Kumar, gave their views on how teachers should be trainers. Hridyakant Dewan presided over this session.
