We face choices and consequences at every step in our life. Before moving ahead we have to make some choices  and act according to that only. Karma is an act done by us physicaly or mentaly, knowingly or unknowingly. According to our own choices we get results. These results are the consequences of our own choices that we made earlier. So we must make a choice with great sense of responsibility because we only will face its consequences in the future. As we know that we are not the body, mind or intelligence, we are soul, a part of supreme consciousness.
We have come here to lead our role which we only have selected. Not only selected but before taking birth on the earth, we have practiced it  a lot, as how to do that role in a perfect manner. 
But, as we come on the earth we gradually forget everything. Whatever we had decided in higher lok before taking  birth. Everything goes out of the mind after taking birth on the Earth. This happens because of some sanskars that we have gathered in our causal body. We bring sanscars from previous birth, then after taking birth we get some sanscars from our parents, relatives and other family members. Not only that we get our sanscars from outside also, that is from the society we live in and then from the environment of school, college, office, company etc. All these acquired sanskars  have their own impact on our decisions.
Now, to correct all this, we have to work on our mental body that is called Mano May kosh which is made up of thoughts and emotions. To work on our mental body, we have to control our thoughts and emotions.  To control them we have to sit and  meditate. During meditation, when we  reach to a thoughtless state of mind then knowledge emerges from within. In this state when energy is collected our Karma's also are burnt. 
After meditation we have to work in the light of that knowledge, which we have gathered recently. Then according to that knowledge we can make right choices and get right consequences of our deeds.
