HELPING PEOPLE IN NEED

As Corona Virus spread widely in Udaipur, a fine morning of March 23rd, 2020 an active group of sixteen teenagers from MB College and cadets of NCC Air Wing, while sitting in the canteen came up with an idea to create awareness about it in their city and village area. Lokesh being their leader took up the responsibility to lead this awareness drive.

 Next morning sharp at seven O’ clock the group assembled. Their faces shine with the sense of determination. 

With an enthusiastic approach the group initiates to greet each other by saying ‘Namaste’ as it is the part of Indian culture and it represent the safety measure of avoiding direct contact of handshaking.

Lokesh said,” We should take guidance from the doctors of RNT Medical College for preparing a plan to work upon”. Onwards, the areas which are prone to the virus such as famous tourist spots like Jagdish Chowk, Fateh Sagar, Sukhadia Circle, etc and tourists’ residing places like Hotels, Guest Houses, etc. were selected. 

Slogan and banners were prepared by the team and posted on all public gathering place around the city by highlighting safety precautions like social distancing, washing hands with soap and sneezing with mouth covered and so on.

Online painting competition was also organized where children participated and beautifully depicted elderly people are more prone to the virus through direct contact, avoiding Non veg. food and focusing on good immunity by yoga and breathing exercise. 

The group of teenagers shared appreciation letters to all children participants those who shown their sensitivity for the pandemic. 

On April 1st, 2020 Lokesh phones to his friends and segregates them in four teams and request them to distribute in different parts of Udaipur for the awareness drive. 

Then the group of teenagers started sharing safety precautions and spreading awareness with people in crowded place, tourist’s areas, and tourists’ guides and also in the villages in the outskirts of Udaipur, Moreover, a group of doctors who volunteered for the awareness drive was also there with each team and provide free health checkup. The message was conveyed positively by concerning the panic state of society.

Young Pranjal, a B.Tech. Student of Geetanjali Institute of Technical Studies, Udaipur, has just started to try his hand at writing stories here we present his first one.
