Udaipur: It was a dream come true when the email in my inbox from the personal secretary of Mrs. KiranMazumdar said that you have got the meeting fixed with her for 28thAugust 2019. These are one of those moments in your life when you do not know how to express yourself because one feels speechless and numb but also wants to jump with joy. A woman who I have always admired andwho is a role model and icon for every woman entrepreneur in the country had finally agreed for the meeting. This was my EUREKA MOMENT. Andthencomes theday28thAugust… As I travelled through the busy roads o f Ba n g a l o r e to th e BIOCON Headquarters, I was going through a zillion feelings and thoughts and the excitement cannot be written down here in few words. I still remember I called a friend and I toldhim,I knowmy lifeisabouttochange. As I stepped in the BIOCON Building her secretary,Mrs.Lathagreetedmewith so much warmth and a very very beautiful smile and the next was her husband whothatdayhadcometoofficeearlywho with is calmness warmth made me comfortable and confident. Inaboutfiveminutes,Mrs.Kirancame in and as she walked in , in the office lounge ,busy on a phone call, there was thischarismaticpersonalityradiatingenergy, at an age bracket of 50-60 years, with a magnificence that not many would possess. She was calm, composed yet very very confident. She asked me to wait in the conference room, and exactly at the appointed time she came in and our meeting commenced. This truly was a lifetime of an opportunity and a new beginning. I take great pride in sharing some of the amazing learnings from the meeting 1. Every problem has an opportunity for a solution and further a business to happen out of it. So seek problems as opportunities 2. Age is just a number, we are what we believe 3. To follow the crowd is easy, to go against the flow takes courage but it is this courage that makes us standout 4. A business is not just about an idea, but about perseverance and sticking to it even when times are tough. 5. When you start a business and the solution you figured out to the problem that you solve doesn’t work out well, youfindanotherpathtobringanothersolution to the same problem. This is what we called it as PIVOTING. 6. Once you are sure what problem you are solving, if you are too passionate about solving the problem and you are ready to give in and stand by in all tough times and persevere, nobody can stop you from succeeding. 7.
