If a hospital is not a safe place for patients, then what is? The ceiling in MB Hospital’s eye ward has gone too weak. A number of times in the past 2 years, proposals for repair and maintenance have been sent but they were not paid heed to. Now the water has started dripping from the ceiling.

Ward head Dr. DK Gupta said that water drips through the ceiling throughout the monsoons. Patients and attending doctors need to shift their beds and seats every now and then. The walls of the ward have become too weak since they hold moisture all the time. The ward building is very old and it needs repair at the earliest. Extreme caution is being taken while admitting patients into this ward. Beds are not laid under the weak ceiling but when the number of patients increases the situation becomes very difficult.
