Environmental audit demanded by Lake lovers

Lake Lovers have demanded an environmental audit for National Lake Conservation Plan (NLCP). They said that there have been loopholes in the activation of NLCP which must be amended.
All lake lovers met with expert Dr. Anil Mehta and claimed that there has been no improvement in the condition of lakes despite having spent 120 crore rupees on the project. As per the plan, water quality has not improved and even vegetation alongside lakes has not benefitted from it. All plants and trees should have bloomed by now but they are still stark and dry. Tej Shankar Paliwal of Lake Development Authority Committee said that NLCP has not done any good and environment is still suffering instead of showing any improvement. He said that a proper environmental analysis is the demand of time. An environmental audit was demanded to deal with the situation. Socialist Nand Kishore Sharma pointed out the fact that lake spread over has been shortened in some or the other way. A lot of garbage and weeds were taken out from one of the ghats at Lake Pichola on this day.
