Udaipur: Daulat Singh Porwal, Honorary Secretary of the Bharatiya Lok Kala Mandal. Udaipur informed that the puppet workshop held between 15thto24thSeptember2019,underthejointaegisoftheBharatiya Lok Kala Mandal and North Central Zone Cultural Center, Allahabad, had concluded. Director Dr. Laik Hussain said that the traditional puppet art of Rajasthan is famous not only in India but also in the world, which is becoming obsolete due to modern technology and social reasons. Keeping this objective in mind, a puppet manufacturing workshop was organized in from 15 September to 24 September, 2019. He told that under the auspices of the Bharatiya Lok Kala Mandal and North Central Zone Cultural Center,Allahabad we had, organized the Phad Painting Workshop from 05 to 15 September 2019 and the puppet creation workshop from 15 to 24 September 2019, In which 100 participants participated. The chief guest of the closing ceremony was Ajay Mehta, President,VidyaBhawan,RiyazTehseen,VicePresident,Board of Bharatiya Lok Kala Mandal, Sheel Dwivedi, Program Incharge, North Central Zone Cultural Center and Dr. Hemant Joshi, Arif Sama, Vice Principal, Vidya Bhavan Distinguished guests present.,praised the participants after observing the exhibition ofPhad paintings and puppets prepared in the workshop.Dr.Hussaininformedthatfiftyschool studentsweretrained in puppet making and running by the artists of the Bharatiya Lok Kala Mandal at the Puppet Creation Workshop.Along with this, two miniature puppet playsPannadhyay andVarjuKanjari were also staged in the workshop by the participants. In the closing ceremony, the program in-charge Sheel Dwivedi, who came from North Central Zone Cultural Center, Prayagraj, welcomed the visiting guests, instructors and parents and said that the Center for the successful organization of this workshop, the Indian Board of Public Art and Vidya Bhavan. He also said that Center Director Indrajit Singh Grover has given assurance that such workshops will be organized further.Healsoinformedthatontheclosingoccasion,distinguished guests gave a citation to the trainees participating in puppet making and fad painting.
