3 civilians injured in ceasefire violation Pakistan again violated ceasefire today and 3 civilians reported injured in firing, BSF has also replied to ceasefire violation. In yet another ceasefire violation, Pakistan Rangers on Thursday night resorted to small arms firing on border outposts (BoPs) along the international border in Jammu, prompting BSF to retaliate.



"Pakistani Rangers resorted to small arms firing on two BoPs in RS Pura and Arnia sub-sectors of Jammu district from 8.45 pm," a BSF officer said on Thursday.



There has been half-a-dozen ceasefire violations by the Pakistani forces in the past over one week.

On 27 January night, Pakistani rangers resorted to small arms firing on two to three BoPs in Arnia sub-sector of Jammu district, forcing BSF to retaliate.



On 25 January, ahead of US President Barack Obamas visit to India, they resorted to small arms firing along the IB on Jugnu Chak BoP in Jammu. While on 22 January, there was exchange of fire after BSF personnel on suspicion of (movement of) suspected persons, fired a few rounds and Pakistani posts also fired a few rounds after hearing sound in Regaal BoP area in Samba district.

On 21 January, BSF foiled an infiltration bid in Arnia sub-sector. On 20 January, Pakistani Rangers violated the ceasefire by resorting to firing by small arms on BoPs in Jammu district.



On 12 and 13 January also, there was small arms firing by Pakistani rangers in Samba sector.

Pakistan resorted to firing of mortar shells and small arms along the IB in Hiranagar belt of Kathua district also on 11 January. On 6 January also, there was ceasefire violation by Pakistani rangers in Kathua district.
