New Delhi- A 24th Ambassadors’ Meet was organized by PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry here today with all diplomatic gusto and fervor in which over 90 Ambassadors, High Commissioners and Diplomats conversed with a passion to cement and further forging economic, trade and cultural ties with country of their accreditation that is India, in which its industry leaders, representing the PHD Chamber were also present in full strength.
The Secretary (ER&DPA), Ministry of External Affairs Ms. Sujata Mehta was the Chief Guest, who reiterated the commitment of the Government of India to forge very close economic and trade ties with overseas countries, that’s Ambassadors, High Commissioners and various other diplomats, represented the countries of their origin were present, suitably gracing the occasion.
President PHD Chamber, its Sr. Vice President and Vice President including the Secretary General of the Chamber Mr. Alok B. Shriram, Mr. Mahesh Gupta, Mr. Glopal Jiwarajka and Mr. Saurabh Sanyal were also present on the occasion.
In his welcome remarks, Mr. Shriram observed, “Ambassadors’ Meet is an annual flagship event of the Chamber which it has been organizing since 1991 to bring the diplomatic and business communities together for an interaction and understanding, which according to him will go on in future without fail”.
The 23rd Ambassadors’ Meet that was held in the month of March 2014, had similar participation and amounted to deepening India and its industry’s engagement with its counterparts overseas in over 64 countries.
Whereas this year’s Ambassadors’ Meet was much more broad based in all respect and led to furthering such ties with the objective of closer global integration in terms of economic, trade and cultural ties including political relationship, pointed out Mr. Shriram.
In the Ambassadors’ Meet, the PHD Chamber offered its felicitation to participating diplomatic community for their support and cooperation for promoting business linkages between India and various overseas nations.
Almost, every continent was represented in the Ambassadors’ Meet, which the PHD Chamber will continue to organize and host with attaining the sole objective for closer and deeper commercial engagements with the rest of the world.
