PCPNDT's Inter-state Workshop concludes Udaipur: One-day inter-state workshop on effective measures for improving sex ratio in the participation of border states of Rajasthan and Gujarat was concluded at Ananta Hotel in Udaipur on Friday.
In the workshop, it was agreed to organize mutual cooperation and training and awareness programs for effective implementation of PCPNDT Act between Gujarat and Rajasthan.Chairman and Dr. Naveen Jain, Government Secretary, Department of Medical and Health, highlighted the PCPNDT Act detailing the expansion of the Dry Operation carried out outside of Rajasthan and the State. He said that till now 71 DECOY operations have been done.
During the year 2016-17, 33 DECOY operations were conducted. These include the states of Madhya Pradesh, Haryana, Gujarat, Punjab and Uttar Pradesh. Similarly, since during the last 15 days, 8 DECOY operations are being carried out and the emphasis is on improving the work with speed. He said that the PBI constituted in Rajasthan is authorized not only in Rajasthan but also in other states of the country to perform Dry Operation.
He said that in order to make it more effective, Gujarat and Rajasthan will have to take concrete action by mobilizing such brokers and networks which are active in severe crimes such as gender investigation and Bhrun murder.
Mr Jain informed that the State Government's informative plan is proving to be effective in reaching out to the pregnant women and taking appropriate action against them. He said that the scheme is intended to provide an amount of 2.50 lakh under which pregnant women are at 1 million, informants gave the award to 50 thousand rupees to the government a million and ally.
The state government has provided around Rs. 32 lakhs under this scheme.In the workshop, Mr. Jain highlighted the Rajshree Yojana and said that the state government is making effective efforts to promote and strengthen girl child birth. Under the Rajshree Yojana, there is a provision of providing 50 thousand rupees in different phases after birth of a girl child.
At the same time, Shri Jain also informed about the various welfare schemes implemented in the field of girl child development in the state and central government.Mr. Jain said that there is a need for public awareness to take effective implementation of the schemes and their benefits to every segment.
He said that for this, the public can be made aware of extensive publicity and necessary information in regular inspection, workshop, meetings and other community programs. He said that PCPNDT act has maintained its own in the state which is ready for cooperation in every phase.
In the workshop, the National Health Mission, Gujarat Director, Gaurav Dadia also addressed the workshop and said mutual co-ordination in both the states as important. On this occasion, Udaipur District Collector, Vishnu charan Mallik, has also taken into views.
