Though we have few good south indian restaurants in Udaipur, still the authentic taste was missing.
I used to eat outside on Sundays. This habit has dragged me to find good and new eating joints which serve real taste of india. I think a food lover needs good taste only and not the ambience. It's my personal view. Murugan Idly and Dosa Hub situated on 100ft road, shobhagpura, is the best place to have south india food in Udaipur right now. Senthil from Tamilnadu is a DJ, socialist, writer, cricketer, state hockey captain and the owner of this restaurant. He came to Udaipur after his marriage to a localite. His search of authentic south indian taste ended with the opening of a restaurant himself. This guy has travelled almost 2500 km to introduce the varieties of real tamil food in Udaipur. I have visited this place twice with my family and trust me guys it's food is awesome. Special Masala Dosa and Jumbo Uthappam are unique in taste and size. Senthil has introduced this to the menu not only to attract customers but also to give real value of your money with taste and quality. The tangy taste of tomato chutney enhances the taste of this food. Senthil told me that he has combined the taste of Tamilnadu and Kerela in nariyal chutney. Fried Idly and Rasam with Pani puri are available in his branches only.
He is planning to open a big south indian joint near B.N. College soon. Senthil's love for Udaipur can be seen in his work and dreams which he wants to fulfil soon. These days when youngsters are taking up jobs abroad, Senthil has opted this career to help poor people of Udaipur. He wants to build a big temple in near future. He is planning to start an NGO where he will work for the sanitization of students from various government schools to improve their health and hygiene habits. Murugan restaurant has other branches in Malaysia and Indonesia too. Visit this place with family and friends to have the taste of Tamilnadu right here in our city.
