Army Chief General Manoj Mukund Naravane today said the formation of the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) and creation of Department of Military Affairs are major steps towards integration of the three forces. He said, Indian Army will ensure its success. Addressing media in New Delhi, General Naravane said the focus of training will be on preparing the Army for future wars which will be network-centric and complex. He said, Indian Army much better prepared today than earlier. He said, quality and not the quantity, will be the mantra of Army on training for future warfare. He said, Indian Army will always be future ready in the years to come and able to meet any challenges. General Naravane said that we will make sure that army personnel get the best and he will look into all their aspirations and needs. On induction of female jawans, he said, from 6th of this month , the training of first batch of 100 female jawans has started for being inducted into military police.
Army chief General Naravane said, the Indian Army is prepared to deal with challenges along the northern border saying that men behind the machine matter the most.
On PoK, he said, PoK can be part of India as stated by political leadership. He said, there is a Parliamentary resolution that the entire Jammu and Kashmir is a part of India. He said, if Parliament wants it, then the area should also belong to India. He said, the Army will take appropriate action when it gets orders in this regard.
