With 28% growth in jobs ‘Business Data Analytics’  need of the hour: Dr. Mahima Birla

“The world of business is undergoing rapid change and a quantum jump is being seen in the field of Business Data Analytics.” This was said by Professor Mahima Birla, Dean, Faculty of Management, Pacific University in her address in the inaugural session of the week-long Faculty Development Programme organized by the Faculty of Management of the University. Dr. Birla further said that the field of Business Data Analytics has seen a tremendous growth of 28 % in jobs every year and a lot of scopes is expected in the field in the coming years. The use of Data Analytics is increasing not only in large enterprises but even in MSMEs. Data Analytics has become an unavoidable part of business these days.



In his address on the occasion, Dr. Hemant Kothari, Dean-PG Studies emphasized that those enterprises who do not adopt Business Data Analytics will soon fall behind others. He said that in view of the ever-increasing strong demand in this field, Pacific University has started a specialized course of ‘MBA in Data Analytics’ as the demand for business professionals for analyzing data and gain critical insights to make important business decisions is increasing exponentially.



 



 



Dr. Shivoham Singh, convenor of the program, informed that considering the contemporary need of updating the faculty members and industry people in this rising field, this week-long Faculty Development Programme has been organized in which 28 faculty members from the states of Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, and Rajasthan have participated. During the workshop, spread over a week, different sessions were held on the topics-Statistical Analysis, Predictive Analysis, Optimization Analysis, Stochastic Models, Forecasting Analytics and Data Mining Techniques etc in which comprehensive training was given by the subject experts.



 



 



Program coordinator Dr. Nidhi Nalwaya and Ali Yawar Reha informed that apart from the above-mentioned topics, training was also given in IT topics like ‘R’, SaaS Base, TABLEAU and Excel. The resource persons for the programme were Professor Dr. Prasoon Chakravarty, Dean-ITM Universe , Vadodara who has wide experience of teaching in Singapore, Malaysia, Japan and other countries, Dr. Pushpkant Shakdwipee, Dr. Ankita Bhargav, Dr K.K.Dave, Director-Academics of Pacific University and Mr. Kaustubh Bhattacharya, COO of Udaipur Chamber of Commerce & Industries.
